Swonderful on the move
A new year brings all kinds of change and Swonderful has decided to pick up sticks, celebrating with a relocation sale.
From this Saturday 28 January, the Swonderful ladies will be discounting prices on lovely frocks, accessories and unique stationery goodies at their Victoria Street store as they prepare to move.
They’ve been quite comfortable in their cosy corner location since 2008, but the looming prospect of a 21-storey apartment development means the whole block will demolished.
Hurry in this weekend if you want to snap their distinctive gingham Sinatra dresses – although the sale runs through until February 11th, I’m going to bet that plenty of the best pickings will disappear quickly.
The new store opens on February 15th at 241 Cuba Street, one of the upper blocks, opposite Fidel’s. As well as all your Swonderful favourites, from organic tee-shirts for wee babies to quirky re-appropriated military brooches, there will be room for even more.
The bright and spacious location will have changing rooms galore and a lounge area with cute retro furnishings. And it’s not just the decor which is getting an overhaul, Frances and Virginia, the crafty women behind Swonderful, are releasing a new range, “The Typing Pool”. Maintaining their ethos of high quality local design and production, this new line delivers office-suitable garments with a vintage aesthetic. Can’t wait to check it out!
You can keep in touch with Swonderful via their Facebook page, where new arrivals are announced and sales are previewed. Keep an eye out for mention of their opening party on Cuba St!
